keys which are cut to 01234 and 56789
How is this helpful?
Simply insert the key into the plug with all the pins removed. Insert the keypin you would like to decode / measure into each chamber until it sits flush. Once you determine where it sits flush note the cut on the key and that is your keypin length! No caliper / micrometer needed!
Example: Chamber 5 on key 01234 would = #4 keypin (if it sits flush)
You can measure / decode your Schlage (SC1) locks quickly and accurately with just these two keys!
Please Note:
In order for these keys to be useful to you your lock must already be taken apart if you are looking to decode it.
If you are looking to decode a key or verify a keypin length you need access to an empty SC1 plug.
